Tomoe Mami is the first magical girl to appear in Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She is also who introduces Miki Sayaka and Kaname Madoka into the world of magical girls. Mami is much more mature than the others and tries hard to be strong and independent as she feels she is alone. She becomes friends with Sayaka and Madoka and is cold towards Akemi Homura. Whilst protecting Sayaka and Madoka, her head is bitten off by a witch and then the rest of her body is devoured. Mami's weapons are those of guns and canons. She can conjure many at once and use ribbons to capture individuals.
