What is Project Otome? Project Otome is something that I have been working on for a while now as a novel. I enjoy playing Otome games and am attempting to combine it with the concept of a 'choose your own ending' novel. Project Otome 1.0 is the first story that will be introduced and it is called The Third Realm.

Why is it a poll? Instead of one person playing it will invite several people to be able to take part in the flow of the story. Each week or fortnight I will upload a poll concerning the story and the way the story goes is dependent on the majority vote on a particular choice. For example, if more people vote for a male protagonist than a female; in the next poll you will be selecting a race based on a male character. From there the race chosen by the audience and majority will open up three characters that can be voted for. It is after the main character is decided that the First Story Arc shall begin.

What happens when the First Story Arc begins? The story will begin with the audience's point of view being from the character that had been selected through the first three rounds. It depends on who is selected as to where the story will begin. You will either begin in the Fairy Realm, the Vampire Realm or the Witch Realm depending on which race won that poll. After beginning the story, a new poll will be uploaded announcing a new round. Each round you will be presented with a piece of the story and a scenario that asks of you to choose one of three actions. The highest voted action will pave the way for the next scenario in the next round and so each decision will shape the course of the story.

The ending? Like an Otome game the story will revolve mostly around the main character's life and romantic relationship. Unlike most Otome games though, there will be the possibility of straying from romance and ending up single. 

It depends on how the readers vote.

Choices will not be changed once the poll has come to an end. It would be very appreciated if you remain civil and friendly towards all involved. 

Be mindful that the story line that this is based off is actually a written work I have constructed. I give credit to Rinmaru Games for the pictures. That site is particularly helpful in creating character images.

So what is The Third Realm? The Third Realm revolves around an adjacent plane to Earth in which the land is divided into three, between Vampires, Witches and Fairies. In the past they had warred against each other but are now living in a mostly civil society, separated from humans. The Third Realm will follow the selected main character as the history of the Firsts (the first of the races to settle the land) begins to impact the current day. War seems like it may ensue and on top of that, as expected of an Otome game, the main character has relationships to develop or destroy.

I will blog the outcomes of each poll and each selected story scenario. Feel free to join in, everyone is welcome!

Updates will occur fortnightly, most likely. After the first three (the main selection rounds) it may be weekly.

The first poll will be uploaded not long after this introductory post.
