Could the World be Saved if Madoka was Saitama?

What Akemi Homura lacks is the ability to defeat Walpurgisnacht who destroys the world and what Kaname Madoka lacks is the lack of ability to not become a witch when defeating Walpurgisnacht. BUT. What if... just what if... Kaname Madoka was instead Saitama?

The AU Theory
Instead of Kaname Madoka, the world of Puella Magi Madoka Magica has Saitama. So we could look at the story as normal. Saitama goes to a high school, becomes a magical girl and has a mad magical girl outfit and meets Homura and then Walpurgisnacht comes.
Now, the main reason that Homura keeps going back into time is to save Madoka and eventually it becomes a mission to stop her from becoming a magical girl at all. Let's still consider this. I think Saitama is likely to shrug off Incubator but at the same time could be persuaded with money... or food. BUT, if it was Saitama; would he have been able to defeat Walpurgisnacht in the first battle, thus rendering Homura's entire story pointless? As a magical girl, could he have stopped Walpurgisnacht from destroying the world? And if not, would he have turned into a witch? Part of me doubts he would despair that much. Also, let's say that he doesn't defeat Walpurgisnacht and he dies and so Homura goes back in time over and over. As Madoka in the future, he'd definitely be able to defeat Walpurgisnacht before needing to become a god, right? He would kind of be One Punch God then.

Now, onto the next part of this in order to tie up the list of questions. I will warn you that if you have not seen The Rebellion; there are spoilers.

So, in The Rebellion we discover that Homura is stuck in between a magical girl and turning into a witch. Despite saving Madoka and basically turning her into a god, Homura succumbed to despair. She was stuck in her head, however, and was being examined by Kyuubey whilst in the mid-state. Madoka and the other girls get stuck in Homura's mind, their memories distorted to fit the state before they remember that they had gone to save Homura from being turned into a witch as Madoka now did with every magical girl in order to stop witches from existing and stop them from having to fight and become what they were protecting people from (although new enemies came of course). Now, Homura is pretty powerful and her emotions are second to none. Her love for Madoka eventually reaches it's limit and instead of being saved by Madoka, Homura traps her. She rips the god-Madoka and the girl-Madoka apart and instead of becoming a witch, becomes the devil. She creates a world that she controls just in order for Madoka to live freely without any pain. In order to save the one she loves, she uses her intense emotions and her power in order to become the worst evil of all. Now, I'm not sure if Saitama could have the same devotion but I am curious; if it got to the point that Homura was ready to become the devil, could Saitama defeat her and remain a god? The way that Homura captures Madoka and splits her is not a battle of physical strength but could Saitama put her down? The reason I ask this is because technically, with Homura in charge, the world is in the hands of a devil. That doesn't really count as saving the world.

We should also look a little more closely at Walpurgisnacht. Saitama easily defeats most opponents but that's in his universe. In the PMMM universe Walpurgisnacht is the strongest witch (in the main timeline and before Homura and Madoka have turned into witches). So it's safe to assume that this should be a challenge for Saitama. Due to the lack of official stats between the two, however, a fight could be anyone's imagination. Saitama could leap and punch her but she could also retaliate with her minions as she had done with Homura. Although Saitama is very agile and fast, even faster than Sonic. His statistics place him close to the idea of a demi-god at the very least but there isn't anything to measure him against Walpurgisnacht with aside from the fact she is capable of destroying the world in many different timelines against different opponents. A valid point I must make is that even Homura and Madoka could not defeat Walpurgisnacht in the first few timelines as she is the most powerful witch, meaning she was once the most powerful magical girl. When connecting the two anime I think Saitama and Walpurgisnacht would be on parallel when considering their roles within their own anime.

Let's Take a Break
I think I've begun to think about this more seriously than I had intended but it's quite interesting. I could do a lot more research as Saitama has stats and proven abilities (like his 'Serious' moves and ability to leap from the moon to Earth and survive space) but there isn't a whole lot on Walpurgisnacht except for what we see of her in the anime (because this is the anime we are considering). We see some of her powers but mostly just know she has the ability to destroy city after city and endure a shit-ton of military assault. She also has minions whereas in this scenario Saitama would not have anyone. I have a few more points to iron out in this AU though:
 - this is considering the first few times that Madoka/Saitama battles Walpurgisnacht. If Madoka is able to defeat her eventually then of course it would mean Saitama could, although we could branch into this and ask if he would become a witch but if he does; then he loses.
 - Saitama's personality and skills should still be considered to be intact whilst still blending him into the story of Puella Magi.
 - if we are to go as far as to ask whether or not Saitama could defeat Devil Homura then we need to assume that he became a god and was tricked by Homura's mid-state. We would also have to assume that Homura is currently on par with his strength, if not stronger, because it would mean that she has survived the multiple timelines.
 - whilst he is 'One Punch Man' he is also changing universes and so it must be taken into consideration that Walpurgisnacht is the most powerful individual (that we know of and before Madoka and Homura succeed her) in the PMMM universe. Thus it makes sense for her to not merely be taken down with one punch. She also has magic at her side and it is clear from the previous witches that it is a little more complicated than simple physical fighting
The whole thing might seem a little disjointed but do not fear for I have summarised my intentions below.

So the break down of the AU Theory is:
 - Could Saitama defeat Walpurgisnacht?
 - If not, could he withstand becoming a witch?
And Then;
 - Could he defeat the Devil Homura?

The overall question being: Could Saitama save the world if he replaced Madoka?

My Answer
With everything considered. Most likely. Despite the world being a lot harsher and less comedic than One Punch Man's, Saitama is OP AF (Over Powered As Fuck). I don't think falling into despair would be that much of a concern and even if he couldn't defeat Walpurgisnacht in the beginning I doubt that he wouldn't be able to in one of the first few timelines before needing to become basically a god. I think that he would probably fail in the first timeline but I don't think he would have to become a god. Saitama's mental disposition is better than that of Madoka and Homura's at the time and so I think he would cope with it. One of Walpurgisnacht's weapons is fire and it's become quite obvious that flame does not cause Saitama to waver. I do feel, however, that if it led to The Rebellion, Homura would defeat him. This is based on the fact that she managed to overpower Madoka, even in her god-like form, and she has enough magical ability that she can change the laws of the world without wishing for it.

What do you think?
