My Top 8 List for anime Intro Songs.
These are based on both the
composition of the song and the video.
This intro song is just badass. I
probably don't need to explain why it's my number one. The lyrics and the way
it's composed just leaves such a fighting sensation with me and leads to
vigorous fist pumping or even slight head banging as I sing along. I get
particularly loud when it comes to 'Und wir sind Jaeger!'. It might have
something to do with my German heritage as well but the presence of the German
in the song just gives it a very 'war like' feeling.
#2 Nirvana (Inu X Boku SS)
Nirvana is my second favourite because
it was my favourite for a long time before my now-first. I just feel uplifted
by the music and only skipped the intro a quarter of the time. I always feel
like reflecting on fast paced and good memory moments when I listen to it and
my singing along in Japanese is the most advanced out of any other Japanese
songs.
#3 Moon Pride (Sailor Moon Crystal)
Sailor Moon was the first anime that I
watched and so it was my bridge to becoming an Otaku. Sailor Moon Crystal
follows the manga, which I've read, and so I like it over the original Sailor
Moon. I really like 'fighting evil by moonlight' and the Japanese 'miracle
romance' but I like 'Moon Pride' more. At first I rejected it but that didn't
last long.
#4 Sakura Kiss (Ouran High Host Club)
'Kiss kiss fall in love!' I love both
the English and Japanese version of this song and I think that the art type in
the video is cute. I think that Honey-Senpai is the only one who looks like he
does always haha. It also reminds me that the manga delves into the romantic
portion of the story rather than just comedy.
#5 The World (Death Note)
Death Note was the second anime I
watched seriously and so 'The World' is both a remembrance of Light and L's
badass but also of my birth into the anime world. I don’t know how to sing
along but I can make noises in my head when I think about it.
#6 Sekai wa Koi ni Ochiteiru (Ao Haru
Ride)
I love the way this song is sung and
the uplifting beat. I love all the colours in the video and how everything is
falling and flying.
#7 Kimi ya Nakya Dame Mitai (Gekkan
Shoujo Nozaki-kun)
This is number seven because I don’t
really know the song nor listen to it but I have a good time when I watch the
anime and leave it on to play. Sort of like why I like 'Pikapika no Taiyou'.
#8 Pikapika no Taiyou (Gakuen Alice)
Pikapika no Taiyou got eighth place
sort of by default. The beat is childish but I think that's what it's charm is.
Gakuen Alice probably had the least skipped intro songs out of all of my anime
because I would just get caught up in the beat but I don’t listen to it on my
phone or anything like the other songs.
